In its interior you can find areas of pine-tree (especially in the Bardena Negra and the Vedado de Eguaras of the Bardena Blanca), and of different kinds of bushes (sabinares, coscojares, romerales, espartales, sisallares and ontinares).
The climate severity causes the appearance of peculiar bushes with leather-like and needle-like leaves, even with thorns to adapt themselves to the dry climate. The saline ground has caused that the plants had to develop beefy leaves and stalks where they accumulate water. In order to take advantage of the spring rains or the autumn storms numerous species have adapted their life-cycle to a short time period.
